I keep coming across this "40 Bags in 40 Days" project and it has me interested. The idea is that every day for 40 days you fill up a trash bag with things you don't really need. Now you don't have to throw away perfectly good things, but you do have to get them out of your house. Donate, Sell, Gift, etc. I don't know that I could fill 40 bags, but I could stand to get rid of some stuff. Oh and the goal is to fill it quickly, because the longer you take, the more excuses you make. (Yeah, that one's all mine.) I'm thinking I'll start smaller, 10 bags in 10 days. If things go well, then I'll do it all over again. Freecycle's about to get a lot more posted items.
Side note. It's apparently impossible to get a free stock photo of trash bags. Looked for 15 minutes. I'll just take pictures myself I guess.
Also the scanner came and it scans beautifully! No more spots on my pictures unless they were there to begin with. A small miracle. It's very shiny.

Hit a wall.
So, while I have been scouring the web looking for tips and ideas (Are they the same thing?), not much has been going on in reality. Put some stuff in the attic, been vacuuming and wiping stuff down more frequently, but that's about it. However, Sunday I'm going to pick up some storage items to get some of the clutter looking more organized. Also, I have a new scanner coming in the mail. Which I plan to use to eliminate all these papers I have lying around the house, I'll back 'em up on disk and they'll still be accessible if I need them, but they'll take up so much less space.
Oh and also.... Dishwasher!!! No more piles of dishes in the sink & on the counter waiting for me to do my least favorite task. Now I have counter space! I just need to avoid throwing random stuff on it.

First
Cleaning my bedroom. I try to stay on top of the rest of the house, but I pretty much ignore my bedroom.
I mean, who's going in there anyway?
My goal is to get all those piles of clean semi-folded laundry up, properly folded and put away. I will settle for the kids laundry folded in a laundry basket, as they are sleeping and I'd wake them up otherwise.

No progress yet.
I am making plans. Today is my lazy day off though, sitting around on my computer in pjs. Tomorrow I have plans.
One involves figuring out what I'm doing and when. I will be using a monthly planner from CREATE STUDIO. I hope having things down in an organized format will help me feel motivated and give visual positive re-enforcement as I look at the progress I've made.
Now all I have to do is avoid playing the Sims. I apologize for the language, the word choices are not my own.

New Year, New Start
I want to do this better. My whole life I've lived in an organized mess and I'm tired of it. No more I say! I'm going to use this blog to track my progress.
